About the Weekend
Foster Old Home Days is a beloved annual tradition that brings our community together to celebrate the rich agricultural
roots and small-town spirit of Foster, Rhode Island.
This family-friendly fair is a vibrant mix of classic fair food, toe-tapping live music, exciting contests, and time-honored 4-H shows that showcase the talents of our local youth.
From hand-crafted goods by local vendors, to farm animal exhibits and wholesome entertainment, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're here for the tractor pulls, pie-eating contests, or just a stroll through the fairgrounds with a doughboy in hand, Foster Old Home Days offers a joyful slice of rural life and community pride.

From pie eating contest, to pie baking, best homemade pickles and chili and flower arrangements there is something for everyone!

It's all about the animals! Come and watch the local 4-H groups show off their beloved horses, rabbits, poultry, dairy and goats!

There is something for everyone in the family!
History
The first Old Home Days celebration was held in 1904 sponsored by the Old Home Association to raise funds to repair the Town House. The affair consisted of a dinner served, at tables improvised from locally cut boards with borrowed dishes for the food (yes, a volunteer was recruited to wash them all when dinner was over). Chowder was cooked in large iron kettles (which are now located and preserved in the FPS Offices) and a clambake was carefully tended by designated committee members.
