Foster Old Home Days is completely volunteer led and run. This 3 day community event is a success only because people give up their time and pitch in. There are roles available to meet every schedule and desired level of involvement. Ways You Can Help
Foster Old Home Days welcomes volunteers of all ages, background and skill levels. There are a variety of projects to tackle with operating the fair each year. Review some of the fair duties below.
Set up and Takedown
ALL HANDS ON DECK! Set up tents, lights, get electrical running/working, place signs and hang banners, decorate, run equipment for stage, set up tables and chairs- These tasks set up the bones of the fair and are critical to FOHD success!
Feature Coordinator
If you have a desire to run a contest/event during FOHD, this is the job for you. Feature Coordinators cover organizing and arranging the event, provide details for marketing and setups and communicate with the Fair Committee to provide updates/address questions/concerns.
Runner
Like to be involved in the action and helping operations run smoothly? We would love to have you on our volunteer team! We are always in need of someone to run something across the fair to a booth or run a message to another person. Runners are a key part of the fair’s seamless operations each year.
Feature Assistant
Don’t want to be responsible for running an activity, but DO want to help execute during the fair? We always need help to run events (resetting stations, timing, measuring, judging, etc.). With all the fair has to offer, there is something of interest for everyone to help with!
